✨ Ujjayini Mahakala Mahima is a divine hymn spoken by Lord Shiva Himself, narrating the supreme glory of Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga in Ujjain. This sacred place is praised by gods, sages, Gandharvas, Apsaras, and even celestial beings. Just by darshan of the Mahakal Linga, devotees are freed from sins, attain all merits, and ultimately liberation (moksha). 🌿 FULL TRANSLATION (Selected Verses 18–33) Verse 18 O Maheshwari! I shall now speak of your greatness, with its ancient story that removes all sins and purifies the mind. Verse 19 In Ujjain lies the supreme sacred place of Mahakala, where My linga is established, worshipped by all the gods. Verse 20 By the very sight of this linga, all sins are destroyed. Seeing it in the morning bestows the merit of all holy deeds. Verse 21 It is served with joy by Indra and the guardians of the worlds, by Brahma, Vishnu, and all the great sages. Verse 22–23 It is worshipped by Ganesha, Rudras, Vasus, Maruts, Siddhas, Vidyadharas, Nagas, Yakshas, Kimpurushas, rivers, mountains, Apsaras, Kinnaras, and the daughters of Rudra. Verse 24–25 Ascetics who live on leaves and water, and even Kamadhenus, constantly offer their essence. Airavata’s descendants, noble elephants, and divine horses also serve this holy place. Verse 26–27 There grow Mandara and Bilva trees, whose blossoms shower fragrance upon the Linga. Their white leaves fall gently, worshipping Maheshvara. Verse 28–29 The quarters resound with celestial drums and music of Ganas. Apsaras dance daily, accompanied by sweet melodies. Narada and other Gandharvas sing Shiva’s names with devotion. Verse 30–31 Nandi and other divine attendants guard the gates, keeping crowds at a distance, while gods bow before Mahakala. Verse 32–33 He appears as the great linga, adorned with Bilva leaves, serpents upon His body, the holy Ganga on His head, marked with the three lines of holy ash, shining with sandal, camphor, and rows of sacred lamps. 🌟 Benefits of Reciting or Listening to Ujjayini Mahakala Mahima Destroys all sins and karmic impurities Grants the merit of all pilgrimages by remembering Mahakal Bestows protection, blessings, and moksha (liberation) Invokes the presence of celestial beings in worship Fills the heart with bhakti, peace, and divine joy #UjjainMahakal #MahakaleshwarJyotirlinga #ShivaBhakti #MahakalMahima #JyotirlingaDarshan
