🎙️ Recruiting Reality Check for Players & Parents If you think college rosters stay the same… think again. At the Division I level, rosters can sit around 32–40 players — but that number is ALWAYS changing. Every year: • Players leave because they didn’t play • Injuries happen (Tommy John, ACL, etc.) • Some guys transfer for better opportunities • Others leave for family, academics, or personal reasons • Big seasons = Power 5 opportunities And with the transfer portal, movement is constant. Thousands of players enter every year. That means one important thing for YOU 👇 👉 Opportunity is always opening somewhere. A coach might be watching Field 8 on a random Tuesday because: • His starting center fielder just transferred • His shortstop got hurt • His catcher entered the portal • His left fielder hit .400 last year… and .180 this year Depth charts change weekly. That whiteboard in the office? It’s never permanent. Parents & Players — when evaluating schools: ✔️ Look at the depth chart ✔️ Understand roster turnover is normal ✔️ Don’t be afraid of competition ✔️ Be open to position flexibility If you’re a high school shortstop and a school wants you as a left fielder — that’s not a downgrade. That could be your path to becoming a 4-year starter. Preseason All-Americans change.Rankings change.Rosters change.Performance changes. That’s baseball. The portal has created movement — but it has also created MORE doors. Stay ready. Keep developing. Bet on performance. ⚾️ Because when opportunity opens… it won’t wait. #CollegeBaseball #RecruitingTips #BaseballRecruiting #D1Baseball #D2Baseball #D3Baseball #TransferPortal #RosterCuts #HighSchoolBaseball
