This is a video of a wooden clock I recently made. The frame was made from some old oak furniture I had knocking about. The gears and other "red" wood parts were made from an old jarrah railway sleeper I had (never again). Although described as wooden, I prefer to make the shafts from steel running on ball bearings. The clock has a grasshopper type escapement and is driven by a constant torque spring. I get 9 days running from 1 wind which isn't too bad. The gear wheels are constructed from radial grain segments for strength. Pinions are lantern type constructed from brass. The clock doesn't sound as loud in reality as it does in the video. It must be a very sensitive microphone in the camera I use.
