The stock centrifugal clutch on the Coleman BT200X mini bike is decent enough, but it has limitations when faced with more demanding conditions. For example, I experienced difficulty getting the mini bike going up a steep hill, as the clutch dragged the engine down, preventing it from providing enough power to overcome the hill. In a previous video ( • Coleman BT200X Mini Bike In The Snow ... , I tried to run the Coleman minibike through about 18" of snow. While traction was tricky, the centrifugal clutch caused a lot of drag, preventing the engine from getting up to speed. In this video, I'm installing a Vevor torque converter (a continuously variable transmission) that should allow the engine to rev up faster and help the bike reach a higher speed. This transmission is a copy of the Comet TAV2 transmission, commonly found in bigger street scooters. I encounter some challenges during this installation, and I'm unsure if the HiSun 196cc engine with its 16mm shaft will work with the Vevor torque converter. However, I plan on replacing the HiSun with a 212cc engine soon, which has a 3/4" shaft, making it compatible with the torque converter. Join me as I figure out this installation process!
