A political storm has erupted within the ruling party in Ramanagara as Congress MLA Iqbal Hussain publicly expressed strong dissatisfaction with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over the alleged neglect of his constituency in the state budget. Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, the MLA said that despite repeated requests, the government has not allocated sufficient funds for key development works in his constituency. He stated that a lake breach in Ramanagara had caused severe damage, leading to casualties and flooding in several areas. According to Iqbal Hussain, he had appealed to the Chief Minister nearly ten times seeking financial assistance to address the issue and prevent further damage. However, he claimed that his requests were not considered while preparing the budget. The MLA said that as a public representative, he is accountable to the people who elected him and it becomes difficult to respond to their concerns without proper funds.
