In this episode of my XT Falcon Barra turbo build, I begin fabricating the 4” dump pipe off a large G42 turbo using 304 stainless steel. This Barra turbo dump pipe has to clear extremely tight spaces in the engine bay, so fitment and mock-up are critical. This is part of my Barra swapped XT Falcon project, where I’m building a custom high mount turbo setup inside a classic Australian Ford engine bay. If you missed the engine bay surgery where I grafted an XY Falcon section into the XT for brake booster clearance, you can watch that episode here: 👉 • Engine Bay Surgery (Part 1) - 1968 Ford XT... 🔔 Subscribe for more custom fabrication and Australian Ford builds: / @restohubau #BarraTurbo #BarraDumpPipe #4InchDumpPipe #XTFalcon #enginebay 00:00 Introduction 00:20 4" Dump Pipe Plan for Barra Turbo 01:14 XY Brake Booster Graft & Engine Bay Clearance 03:06 Cutting 304 Stainless Steel Pie Cuts 04:25 Test Fitting Pie Cuts to Turbo V-Band 05:45 Original XT Falcon Roof Reveal (Unrestored Paint) 06:37 Mocking Up Dump Pipe with Mandrel Bend 08:39 Trial Fit & Clearance Check in Engine Bay 10:40 TIG Weld Purge Setup Explained 11:19 3.5" V-Band Test Piece Setup 14:34 Purge Welding Demo & Sugaring Explained 15:45 Tacking the 4" Stainless Dump Pipe 17:42 Final Mock-Up & Fitment Test 18:30 Adding Additional Pie Cut Section 21:38 V-Band Setup for Back Purging 22:47 Fully Welding 4" V-Band to Dump Pipe 23:40 V-Band Weld Reveal (Argon Mishap) 24:30 Final Fitment & Next Episode Preview
