Hello Go Temple viewers welcome to another interesting episode. In today's vlog, I'm taking you on a spiritual journey to the beautiful and powerful Siruvapuri Sri Bala Subramaniyar Swami Temple! This temple, located about 33 km north of Chennai and around 10 km west of Ponneri, is truly a special place steeped in history and divine energy. The name "Siruvapuri" itself has an interesting backstory, meaning "the place where young ones fought," referring to a significant historical battle that once took place here. Let's explore the wonders of this sacred abode together! As we approach the temple, you'll be mesmerized by the magnificent five-tiered raja gopuram that stands tall, welcoming devotees from all directions. The main deity here, Lord Murugan, or Bala Subramaniyar, is enshrined in a particularly auspicious location – the vayu bhagam, which is the northwest direction of the village. What's truly unique about Lord Murugan here is his depiction in the form of Brahma, the creator. He is seen with four hands, holding a japa mala (rosary for meditation), a kamandalu (a water pot signifying renunciation), and displaying the abhayamudra, a gesture of fearlessness and protection. It’s a truly captivating and rare form of Lord Murugan that you won't find everywhere! We also had the opportunity to witness the beautiful utsava murti, the processional deity of Lord Murugan. He is depicted in his divine wedding attire, lovingly holding the hand of his consort, Valli. This symbolizes the sacred union and is a beautiful sight to behold. Another significant aspect of this temple is its Sthala Vriksham, the sacred Magizham tree. This tree holds immense religious importance and is revered by devotees. Interestingly, all the idols within the Siruvapuri temple are crafted from emerald stone. It's believed that this precious stone has a unique effect – it enhances the taste of any food cooked within the temple premises! It’s just one of the many fascinating aspects that make this temple so special. Devotees flock to this temple for various reasons. Many come seeking blessings for a happy and fulfilling marriage, to overcome any Vastu doshas in their homes or properties, to find solutions to financial difficulties, and for progress and success in their careers. One of the most unique offerings here is the practice of tying a brick within the temple premises. It's believed that by doing so with sincere devotion, your wish to build your own house will be fulfilled quickly. The temple is also known for organizing grand mass marriages, bringing together couples in holy matrimony. The temple is open for darshan from 6 AM to 12 PM and again from 4:30 PM to 8 PM every day. What’s truly commendable is the daily Annadanam, the free distribution of food, which is organized here. They provide meals for 100 people daily, and this number increases significantly to 500 on Sundays and an impressive 2,000 on Tuesdays! This noble service is managed by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. For those of you planning a visit, the temple is easily accessible from Chennai via Red Hills, following the NH 16 route. I’ve included the directions in the description below. And for those who may not be able to visit in person, the temple offers the convenience of online booking for abhishekam and other rituals through their official website. I'll also link that in the description for you. My experience at the Siruvapuri Sri Bala Subramaniyar Swami Temple was truly enriching and divine. The serene atmosphere, the unique deities, and the powerful energy of the place left a lasting impression on me. I highly recommend visiting this temple if you ever get the chance.
