40,000lb of Coconut Oil Spills onto Freeway! This job took over 4 hours, but I condensed the video to just 1 so it can be action packed and entertaining. When it comes to these huge spills, the majority of time on scene is just standing by. I tried to leave as much of the action in as possible so you guys can get a clear sense of what goes on during these huge jobs. Thankfully Cal Trans and Ocean Blue Environmental were there to help with the nasty cleanup. This organic coconut oil wasn't as sticky as some of the other concentrate we've worked with which I think was a big help. Still, you can clearly see how big of a cleanup response was needed. Very happy as well that just one tote was punctured. I had the idea to flip it, so the leaking side would be facing up. Rudy joined us by bringing the telehandler to transfer the load from the damaged container into a new one. I'll let the video speak for itself; what did everyone think of this huge recovery job?
