When Tokyo DisneySea renamed their Christmas event from “Harborside Christmas” to “Christmas Wishes” in 2010, a brand new day/nighttime show was created for its inaugural season under the same name. Christmas Wishes was held in Waterfront Park in American Waterfront right in front of Hotel Hightower. The show featured Mickey and friends as they celebrate the most magical time of the year along with a special appearance by Santa Claus himself. Christmas Wishes only ran for two Christmas seasons and held its final year in 2011. Fun Facts: Christmas Wishes featured 2 all-new songs which were later re-used for the show’s spiritual successor “Colors of Christmas”. These two songs were titled “Make a Wish” (not to be confused with the TDR 20th anniversary theme song of the same name), and the second song was titled “Christmas Family”. The 2011 version of the show had a different opening and certain parts of the show’s musical score that were in English in the 2010 version, were re-recorded in Japanese. Colors of Christmas continued to use two of the main themes of the show until 2019 when it ended its run. The song “Make a Wish” made it over to Disneyland in California in 2013, as well as over in Disneyland Paris for “World of Color: Winter Dreams” and “Disney Dreams of Christmas” with a few changed lyrics. The show re-utilized the stage from Mysterious Masquerade in 2010 and the following year it was used again for Christmas Wishes even though Mysterious Masquerade had ended its run in 2010. Other parts of the show’s musical score and some of the outfits were reused in 2015 for the new daytime Christmas show “A Perfect Christmas” until the shows end in 2017.
