My Dad, Larry Apple, was a wonderful man with a passion for music. He spread his love of music not only to his family, but to thousands of others through hosting Bluegrass Festivals, performing before countless audiences, and helping to teach his sons to play and carry on the family tradition. He was a co-founder and manager of The Apple Family Bluegrass Festival which ran from 1979-1984. Through the festival, he helped brings the talents of such artists as Scott Vestal, Russell Moore, Brent Truitt, Mike Snider, and many others before audiences in the natural state of Arkansas. Larry was also extremely talented in the field of welding and made his living in the sheet metal business. Always one to stay busy, he enjoyed tending to several big gardens each year, with an emphasis on growing okra and tomatoes. He is missed very much, but his rich legacy will live on.
