If you graft on bigger rootstock, it is useful for getting seed pods of desired Adeniums earlier than expected. Even young juvenile scion will mature along with the stock and will produce the seed pods very early by producing early flowers. Instead, if you graft a mature scion on a small size or young rootstocks you will not get early seed pods or flowers. Small, grafted plants will be useful only for the sale purpose of Adenium hybrids. To produce more seed pods within a short period, grafting on big rootstocks alone is useful.It is useless to graft on small stocks to produce more seed pods, provided if you are ready to wait four to five years.
