#DelhiCrime #DelhiPolice #CrimeNews #DelhiNews #SnatchingCase On the busy streets of Delhi, thousands of people move around every day. Bus terminals and markets remain crowded, and criminals often take advantage of this rush to commit crimes. However, this time Delhi Police managed to catch a notorious snatcher red-handed near the Anand Vihar ISBT, and the name of the accused surprised many people. At first hearing, it sounded like the police had caught a “monkey”, but the truth turned out to be quite different. The accused is a 28-year-old man named Aman, who is popularly known by the nickname “Bandar”. Aman, a resident of Nand Nagri in Delhi, is a habitual offender who has been involved in several criminal activities for years. According to police records, as many as 39 criminal cases have been registered against him across different police stations in Delhi. These cases include robbery, snatching, violations under the Arms Act, and cases under the Excise Act. According to East District DCP Rajiv Kumar, police had deployed special patrol teams in the area to curb the increasing incidents of snatching. The patrol team included Head Constable Pradeep and Head Constable Shishpal, who were on duty near Anand Vihar ISBT on the morning of March 14. Their task was to keep a close watch on suspicious activities around the crowded bus terminal. At around 8 a.m., a man named Muzaffar had come to the bus terminal to drop his uncle at the ISBT. As he stood near the exit gate, a young man suddenly approached him, snatched his mobile phone, and tried to run away. The entire incident happened so quickly that Muzaffar barely realized what had happened. Within seconds, however, he understood that his phone had been stolen and immediately started shouting for help. Hearing the commotion, Head Constable Pradeep and Head Constable Shishpal, who were patrolling nearby, quickly sprang into action. They began chasing the suspect and managed to catch him after a short pursuit. During the search, the police recovered the stolen Vivo S1 mobile phone belonging to the victim. When the accused was questioned, he was identified as Aman alias “Bandar”. Further investigation revealed that he is a habitual offender with a long criminal history. Police officials also found that Aman is addicted to drugs and has been committing crimes since 2017 to support his addiction. He has been involved in multiple cases registered in North-East Delhi, Shahdara, and even with the Crime Branch. Despite being arrested several times earlier, he continued to commit similar offenses. Delhi Police have now registered a case against the accused under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and further investigation is underway. Officials believe that more cases could be solved during the interrogation. The police said that special drives are being conducted across the capital to control street crimes such as snatching and robbery. The arrest of habitual offenders like Aman not only helps solve multiple cases but also acts as a deterrent to criminals operating in crowded areas of the city.
