#DelhiPolice #CrimeNews#LPGScam #DelhiCrime #mundka A large illegal LPG gas racket has been exposed in Delhi after separate police actions uncovered hoarding and illegal refilling of gas cylinders at two different locations. Raids conducted in Mundka in Outer Delhi and Shakarpur in East Delhi have revealed that in several parts of the city, gas from large cylinders was being illegally transferred into smaller cylinders and sold in the black market. The Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Cell of the Delhi Police Crime Branch received secret information that a warehouse in the Mundka area was being used to store a huge number of LPG cylinders illegally. Acting on the tip-off, the police team conducted a raid at the location and discovered a large stock of commercial LPG cylinders stored inside the warehouse. Initial investigation revealed that the warehouse was being used in violation of safety norms and provisions of the Essential Commodities Act. During the raid, police seized a total of 610 commercial LPG cylinders belonging to Indane, Bharat Gas and HP Gas. According to police officials, the large quantity of cylinders indicates the possibility of a wider illegal network operating behind the racket. Investigators suspect that the cylinders were being supplied to different locations where they could be used for illegal refilling and black-market sale, allowing the operators to earn huge profits. Meanwhile, another dangerous illegal gas operation was exposed in the Shakarpur police station area of East Delhi. Police had received information that gas was being illegally transferred from large domestic cylinders into smaller cylinders inside a local shop and then sold illegally. Taking the information seriously, a special team led by the Station House Officer was formed, including Head Constable Anurag and other police personnel. The team conducted a raid at the shop in Shakarpur and caught a man identified as Yogesh Gupta (46) red-handed while carrying out the illegal refilling activity. During the search of the premises, police recovered two 14.2-kg red domestic LPG cylinders, three 5-kg small cylinders, a gas transfer pipe, an LPG refilling machine, and a weighing machine used to measure the gas while filling the smaller cylinders. During interrogation, the accused confessed that he had been refilling gas from large domestic cylinders into smaller cylinders for several days and selling them illegally at higher prices. Police officials stated that such illegal refilling operations are extremely dangerous because they are carried out without any safety arrangements or licenses. In crowded neighborhoods and narrow lanes, even a small gas leak or cylinder explosion could lead to a major disaster. Investigators also suspect that similar illegal activities are taking place in several other parts of Delhi, where gas is secretly transferred from large cylinders into smaller ones in back-street shops and then sold under different names in the market. Shakarpur police have registered a case against Yogesh Gupta under Sections 3/7 of the Essential Commodities Act and Sections 287, 125 and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and he has been arrested. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police Crime Branch has also started a deeper investigation into the Mundka case to identify the source of the large cylinder stock and to uncover others involved in the illegal LPG supply network. Police officials believe that a well-organized network may be operating behind the illegal gas trade, and further investigations could lead to more major revelations in the coming days.
