Part 7: The HEAR Framework __________________________________________________________________________ This module focuses on the concept of displaying receptive behaviors when communicating with patients or colleagues. It introduces the HEAR framework, which stands for hedging claims, emphasizing agreement, acknowledging the other perspective, and reframing to the positive. These strategies are aimed at maintaining receptiveness while expressing your own viewpoint. Participant Instructions: Refer to your Participant Worksheet to consider several patient-provider conversations. Use the HEAR framework to edit the provider’s response in a way that demonstrates greater receptiveness.
