[Hiking] Mount Ijen Kawah Volcano| Surabaya, Indonesia

Visit the Most Acidic Lake in The World located in the crater of Mount Ijen Kawah volcano The Ijen volcano complex is a group of composite volcanoes located on the border between Banyuwangi Regency and Bondowoso Regency of East Java, Indonesia. It is inside a larger caldera Ijen, which is about 20 kilometers wide. Ijen Crater is an interesting adventure because you have a few different elements. Firstly, you are waking up in the middle of the night to start the adventure so it is cold. Secondly, you are going to be hiking in the dark. Thirdly, you are going to be very close to toxic sulfur gas as you observe the blue flames inside the crater. It isn’t your normal hike and this requires a certain level of preparation but nothing too intense. The hike to the crater is 3.4km from the base. The first 1.5 km is moderate but the next 1.5km is a tough hike and the rest is easy. It took 1.5hrs minimum to the crater. Along the way, the view of surrounding like Mt Raung is incredible. Once at the top of the crater, the amazing view of the crater is a great reward. A must-do in East Java Thanks For watching.
