I tried to make the best use of the Team Spirit talent. It could ramp up my strength, but the ramp was still slow. I was looking for more ways to stall fights. I finally found some near the end of the run. In addition the above, my Aberrations were so stacked that they could have probably won already, even without the stalling in the first phase in the Boss fight. Sadistic & Frigid & multi hit attacks doing the heavy lifting. The Metabolizer on it was an unnecessary risk. Looking back, I should not have done that. Random Devil's Advocate could have ruined me. I was considering taking the Blood Grub and maybe evolve it later for the longevity of my party. That felt a bit too passive. I went with the Kilimaro instead. He could also self heal, but he could play offensively too. The Snowball talent synergized well with other negative speed synergies and the Sadistic talent. Bell Rats were the safest of three. The other two would have increased my chance of losing the run. That is Limited Taming for you ;P First fight was obvious. Courtship meant getting a monster for free. Kilimaro tends to work best when you have multiple of them too. Well, well, well. I have not secured a bestiary entry for the Beaver Monkey yet. And this one came with the Team Spirit and an extra health too. I am seeing a line here :) Too bad the event was wasted, but what can you do. Free heal is steal a free heal. The early Duplicating Flowers event looked like a bait to me. I had no ways of negating the curse at the time and I did not want to be forced to catch a Kerabettle to get one. The fight itself also seemed rather hard for my deck. Maybe the Monkey could have carried through regardless. On the other hand, the other fight was less tricky and had the Masterball reward there (forgotten Laboratory). That could come in handy, in case it would be hard to catch something later. 4th fight was a little tricky. Tanky enemies and a very powerful Polro. Extra health, the Frigid and the Nocturnal Eye looked very strong. They would synergized with my Kilimaros. I opted for greed and did not use my Masterball on it. One of my Kilimaros could make a good use of 3 extra speed, allowing it to outtspeed more enemies. The Golden Beetle and the Aberration were here. The Goldeen Beetle Fight looked a bit rough. I also was not sure how much a Gargroro would benefit my team. I would need to extract one of the Snowballs and maybe one of the Iceleech first. I would have been left with 1 empty syringe only. On the other hand, the Aberration could give me another body and did not cost any syringe yet. I picked this option. At the time of creation, my 6/10 Aberration had: Ice Wall (utility) Metabolizer (utility, scaling) Shred Obliteration The Cloning Flowers were now back. There was also a Nostroptera with the Sadistic and the Growl. This was the last piece I was looking for. I loaded my Aberration with Nocturnal sun, the Frigid, Sadistic, Forcefield (Metabolizer) and the Hyperimpact (Metabolizer) before I duplicated it. Now I had two heavy sweepers. The victory was certain. Last fight before the boss. I was hoping to get the Parasitic Water, from the Rest Site event. The chances were small, but it happened! Looking back, this was a bad choice. I should have picked the other fight instead, because it had the more reliable Syringe Box event. Between the Growl and the Parasitic Water, I could stall the first phase of the Sons of the Abyss forever (or until my PC gave up first). Once I was happy with the strength across both of my Aberrations, I moved on to sweep the remaining fight. The Beaver Monkey got carried to the finish line :) Start 0:00 Aberration 36:46 Sons of the Abyss 50:30 Bestiary 1:01:48
