The Date, a short film by Communication Design students of IIAD

'The Date' is a film about breaking stereotypes! A film that has a fresh perspective on the typical love stories that we come across where the onus usually lies on the man to propose to the woman in the relationship. The film attempts at showcasing how the ladies can ditch the mundane and choose to be the one who don't shy away from confidently expressing their affection to the partner. This short film was made by the Communication Design students of IIAD as a part of their Filmmaking Workshop titled 'Celluloid' under the mentorship of Ms. Pallavi Arora, an acclaimed Documentary Filmmaker. Apart from making documentaries, she is also the co-founder of Sotomoto, a design studio that specializes in creating kids’ products inspired by Indian Crafts. Realising the need for children to be exposed to filmmaking and photography as forms of creative expression, Pallavi started an initiative in 2015 titled ‘The Little Picture Project’. The Little Picture Project conducts filmmaking workshops for children and young adults (age 7 onwards) using an interactive hands-on approach that emphasizes on creativity and teamwork.
