Porthcurno Beach and Minack Theatre, Cornwall, UK from drone - 16 Aug 24

Flew my DJI Mini 2 4K over Porthcurno Beach, Logan Rock and the Minack Theatre in Cornwall UK. This was my first drone flight I have done over the sea, so I was a little nervous about colliding with a seagull, or another drone etc. As there's no chance of recovery if it crashes into the water. I launched the drone from a high cliff. The flight was mostly stable, there was a very slight gust but nothing too heavy. It was a bit challenging to land, as I couldn't find a large piece of grass big enough on top of the cliff, and had a bush next to my "helipad". But I think I did quite well for my first drone flight over the sea. Some members of the public were also watching me and were fascinated. It was a beautiful day, the sea water was turquoise! Cornwall is quite a difficult place to fly drones. I was staying in Penzance and I couldn't fly it there or over St Michael's Mount, due to the Penzance Heliport. There's also Lands' End Airport, Newquay Airport and other hazards. There aren't many places that you can fly your drone in Cornwall, unfortunately.
