This path gently winds above the sea, offering a mix of wooded slopes, open headland, and sweeping Atlantic views. Each step brings a new angle on this dramatic stretch of coast, where even a brief walk can feel like a journey through a postcard. 🕰️ Highlights, History & Local Lore Carbis Bay is a sheltered inlet with bright, powdery sand and a calmness that feels worlds away from the usual seaside bustle. Once a genteel Victorian resort, it’s now known for luxury stays and lazy afternoons. The St Ives Bay Line train glides along just above the beach, hugging the cliffs in what’s often called Britain’s most scenic short rail ride. But walking the coast path between the two towns is the real treat. The trail climbs through lush woodland and scrub, with occasional peeks through the trees to turquoise shallows and distant boats. As you crest the final hill, St Ives begins to spill into view—its whitewashed houses tumbling toward the harbour like a painting come to life. St Ives has long lured artists with its extraordinary light, a place where land, sea, and sky blur into inspiration. The town’s artistic legacy includes the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum, and a rich community of local makers. Yet fishing remains in its blood, and the scent of salt and fresh catch still lingers in the narrow lanes. This walk may only span 2 miles and a half, but it’s rich in atmosphere, story, and soul. It’s not just a link between two Cornish gems—it’s a moment of calm, colour, and coastal magic. 📍 Walk Starting Point (What3Words): ///synthetic.move.accented 🗺️ Full Map of All Walks, Drives, and My Ever-Growing To-Do List: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/1/edi... 📽️ Walk Stats • Walk #283 • Time: 12pm – 4th May 2025, English Spring • Difficulty: ⭐ 1 / 5 • Beauty: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 7 / 5 • Steps: 4,673 • Distance: 2.33 Miles / 3.75 km • Weather: Perfect!
