Garlic Soy Chicken (20-Minute Easy Recipe!) Ingredients List For the Chicken Prep 8 boneless chicken thighs (can substitute with breast or drumsticks) 1/2 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp Pepper 2 Tbsp Cornstarch For the Sticky Sauce 4 Tbsp Soy Sauce 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce 1 Tbsp Honey 1 Tbsp Dark Soy Sauce (for color) 1 Tbsp Water 1 Tbsp Cornstarch (to thicken the slurry) Other Ingredients 2 Tbsp Cooking Oil (for shallow frying) 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic 1/3 cup Chopped Spring Onion (for garnish) Salt to taste (optional, for final seasoning) 👨🍳 Cooking Instructions Step 1: Prep the Chicken Place the chicken thighs in a bowl. Season the chicken evenly with salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. Toss until every piece is coated. Set aside. Step 2: Whisk the Sauce In a separate small bowl, combine the sauce ingredients: soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, honey, 1 tablespoon of water, and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Whisk until the mixture is completely smooth and the cornstarch is dissolved. Set aside. Step 3: Cook and Glaze Heat a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat with 2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Make sure the pan is large enough to hold all the chicken. Place the chicken pieces in the hot pan and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, until they are golden brown and cooked through. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken. Listen for the sizzle! Stir and turn the chicken constantly to ensure every piece is completely coated in that rich, sticky glaze. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of water to loosen it up. Let the sauce simmer and thicken for about 1 minute until it becomes wonderfully sticky and glossy. Taste the sauce and add extra salt if desired. Remove from heat, garnish generously with freshly chopped spring onion, and serve immediately! Enjoy this recipe! Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe—it means the world to me!
