The original piece is known as “Sürgün.” I named this cover “Gelsinler” because that line is the one that affected my spirit the most. The lyrics come from the poem “Sürgün” by Nihat Behram (music: anonymous/unknown), written in the language of exile and leaving: a farewell spoken softly but firmly, without certainty of return, asking family, friends, mountains, and fields to carry the message.
