On What’s Up this week, four news stories surface. First, the UM6P Rabat campus received the Senegalese delegation under the guidance of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko. This was during an official visit dedicated to understanding the university’s model in higher education and innovation. The delegation was enlightened about the UM6P subsidiaries, StartGate and 1337, which support entrepreneurship and digital skills development. The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss avenues for cooperation between Morocco and Senegal, particularly in education, innovation, and human capital. Second, UM6P’s Center for African Studies in Benguerir hosted the third session of The World Seen from Africa seminar series. Animated by Professor Jean-Godefroy Bidima (Tulane University), it dealt with themes of utopia and dystopia in Africa through concepts of place, non-place, memory in the digital age, heritage, housing, and the ethical and legal issues raised by digital transformations. Third, UM6P School of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences (FGSES) organised a Book Presentation Series session, by its SCALES Skills Hub, around Doing Research as a Native: A Guide for Fieldwork in Illiberal and Repressive States, presented by Professor Kira Jumet. The discussion addressed methodological, ethical, and practical challenges of conducting field research in politically constrained environments, engaging students and researchers working on qualitative methods and political studies. Finally, at UM6P Benguerir campus, the SOLE unit, in partnership with the Model United Nations (MUN) Club, organized Inside the Negotiations, an interactive simulation inspired from historical diplomatic conferences such as Yalta, Berlin, Madrid, and Vienna. Through role-playing and crisis-management scenarios, participants practiced negotiation, strategic decision-making, and response to geopolitical and media pressures. #Gatheringmindsshapingfutures #UM6P #TimesofUM6P #GatheringMindsShapingFutures Social links Follow us on Linkedin: / times-of-um6p Follow us on Instagram: / timesofum6p
