We continue our three-week exploration of Scotland’s West Coast cruising grounds with a visit to Staffa, Muck, Eigg and finally to Sandaig on Scotland’s mainland. The sea state didn’t allow us to go ashore on Staffa but we circled this gem of an island and took in the stunning landscape. We then set course for the island of Muck, one of the ‘Small Isles’. They have a community store that sells wares from local farmers and artisans while relying on an honesty box for payment. We just love seeing these and hope for a time that they could work in the US. The afternoon winds kicked up and made the anchorage here a little rough so we set off around 10 pm for the nearby island of Eigg. What a beautiful night sky we enjoyed for the entire journey. The colors became brighter and brighter with time and we were pinching ourselves to be up and enjoying this tremendous show! We are positioning ourselves to circle the Isle of Skye and that will begin in earnest in our next episode but in this episode, we do pass just off of the Sleat Peninsula on our way to the rustic bay of Sandaig. Join us next time as we visit Eilean Donnan castle, pass under the Skye Bridge, have a wonderfully enjoyable stay in Plockton on the mainland and then Portree on Skye Thanks for watching! Music Credits Epidemic Sound: The Fellowship by Christoffer Moe Ditievsen Out of Glory by Trabant 33 The Fairy Dance by Bonnie Grace Old Scottish Town by Trabant 33 Live Music performed by The Inn Crowd (Dougie Pincock, Wilfar Matheson and Neil MacRae). Permission granted for inclusion in our video by Dougie Pincock. We hope to include additional segments of their performance in our next episode so be sure to check back! The venue for this live music event was the Plockton Inn on the west coast of Scotland. If you are in the area you simply must spend an evening here! Thanks to Hannah from the Plockton Inn for connecting me to these talented musicians. I wish I could watch them again … a trip back to Scotland might be in our future?!
