Heavy Fire, Possible Victims: Toledo Firefighters Aggressive Attack

Toledo Fire & Rescue Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 1700 block of Belmont Avenue, near Brown Avenue, early Tuesday morning, December 23, 2025. Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire showing from the first and second floors of the structure and immediately began an aggressive fire attack. Fire suppression and search operations were complicated by holes in the floor and a burned-out interior staircase. A primary search of the first floor was negative. Firefighters used ground ladders to access the second floor to continue extinguishment and search operations. All searches were negative.
