What can you do to decrease anxiety and stress and increase your sense of calm? This 100-minute beginner-friendly Hatha yoga class (with a little Vinyasa) is the answer. Designed specifically to help you reduce anxiety, regulate your breath, and build steady inner strength, this practice teaches you how to stay calm even when things feel hard. This is part one of our Mercury Retrograde mini-series, created in response to your request for anxiety support. Through grounding breathwork, foundational Sun Salutations, Warrior I, Warrior II, Warrior III, Tree Pose, Goddess Pose, half pigeon, quad stretches, twists, and a long guided shavasana, you’ll train your body and mind to remain present. Anxiety is fear of the future — and this class brings you back to now. We focus on slow, conscious breathing, mental steadiness, and strengthening the nervous system through intentional movement. You’ll practice staying calm inside effort, breathing through challenge, and consciously releasing tension from the body and mind. This class is open to all levels and especially supportive for beginners or anyone looking for a slower grounding, anxiety-relieving yoga practice (but also ready to work for it).
