GOTO Track 01 // Rewind & Repeat "QUANTUM COLLAPSE" is a new entry in my ongoing PSX series, a collection of records I’ve been building as imagined soundtracks to lost PlayStation-era games. This series is deeply inspired by 90s and Y2K atmospheric drum and bass, ambient jungle, early liquid DnB, and the emotional tone of PS1 and PS2 soundtracks. Every release feels like uncovering a forgotten disc from a parallel timeline, and this one might be the most fragile and mysterious world I’ve explored so far. In this fictional 3D, low-poly third-person PS1 mecha game, you pilot the experimental unit QUANTUM COLLAPSE, a prototype built to stabilize a reality fracture orbiting a dying blue star. The visuals are pure late-90s: grainy space backdrops, flat-shaded polygons, fog-heavy draw distance, and minimal UI overlays. Your mission is to descend through layered orbital rings and fractured research platforms, where a classified government experiment attempted to harvest energy from a collapsing dimension. Each level unfolds across drifting debris fields, shattered zero-gravity laboratories, luminous nebula corridors, and vast mirror-like energy seas reflecting distorted constellations. You boost and strafe through rotating structures, magnetize to broken hull fragments, and dive between slow-spinning satellite ruins. Corrupted maintenance drones patrol in erratic patterns, their pathfinding slightly off in that very PS1 way. Gravity wells distort your movement, pulling the mecha sideways while warning sirens echo through compressed audio samples. As you approach the core anomaly, reality itself flickers—textures warp, geometry bends, and hostile entities formed from raw quantum noise phase in and out of visibility. The final descent feels quiet, almost beautiful, as the collapsing star casts soft light over everything you fought through. The production of the album is mainly centered around textures, one-shots and breaks coming from 90s sample CDs, together with selected samples, chops, melodic flips and atmospheric manipulations of PSX soundtracks. Best enjoyed while watching distant city lights at night or imagining yourself drifting in orbit, but also just while studying, commuting, or taking a quiet walk with your headphones on. Thank you for continuing to explore these worlds with me. I’m genuinely grateful that you give your time to this project, and I’m working every day to become good enough for all of this. I really hope you like this record.
