To see even more film and TV interviews, please subscribe at: / @themoviememoriesclub Within the framework of 25 quick-fire questions, this is a celebrity interview with the British actor Christopher Neame, where he talks candidly about his life, and career working in film, television, and theatre in both the UK and the US. Christopher Lawrence Neame was born on September the 12th, 1947 in London, UK, but in 1950 moved with his family to Sussex after his father wanted to escape the big fog. After first working at the Oxford Playhouse, and then in weekly Rep at Great Yarmouth, Christopher Neame acknowledged that he didn't really know how to act, so went on to formally train for three years at 'The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama'. Whilst there, Christopher Neame auditioned for the Actor and Filmmaker, Cornel Wilde, and secured his very first film role in the 1970 film, 'No Blade of Grass'. Christopher Neame acknowledges here that he is probably best remembered for his Hammer film roles. Firstly, in 'Lust for a Vampire', but more so, for playing Johnny Alucard in ‘Dracula A.D. 1972’, opposite Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. Other film credits include: ‘Steel Dawn’ (1987); ‘D.O.A.’ (1988); ‘Bloodstone’ (1988); ‘Licence to Kill’ (1989); ‘Ghostbusters II’ (1989); ‘Suburban Commando’ (1991); ‘Hellbound’ (1994); ‘Ground Zero’ (2000); ‘The Prestige’ (2006); and ‘House of the Gorgon’ (2019) Despite completing a few films early in his career, Christopher Neame explains in this interview that he felt that his acting career only really started when he appeared in the TV series ‘Colditz’ (1972-1974), alongside such names as David McCallum, Richard Heffer, Jack Hedley, Bernard Hepton and Robert Wagner. From that point on, Christopher Neame has subsequently continued to work in television throughout his pre and post Hollywood acting career. Firstly, in the UK in TV productions such as, ‘The Protectors’ (1974); ‘Napoleon and Love’ (1974); ‘Edward the King’ (1975); ‘Secret Army’ (1977); ‘The English Programme’ (1978), ‘When the Boat Comes In’ (1981); ‘Blake's 7’ (1981); and ‘The Cleopatras’ (1983). Then after relocating to the USA, Christopher Neame appeared in many of the most popular TV shows of the 80’s and 90’s including, ‘The A-Team’ (1985); ‘Benson’ (1985); ‘The Fall Guy’ (1986); ‘Dynasty’ (1988-1989); ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (1989); ‘Dallas’ (1989); ‘L.A. Law’ (1990); ‘Hunter’ (1991); ‘MacGyver’ (1986-1991); ‘Babylon 5’ (1994); ‘Northern Exposure’ (1994); and ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ (1995). Christopher Neame has also worked in the theatre throughout his career, and highlights in this interview how he loved working at the Royal Shakespeare Company. He also recalls here working with Jill Bennett in the play 'The Eagle Has Two Heads’, at the Chichester Festival Theatre, then doing ‘The Rivals’ and ‘King Lear’ with Anthony Quayle at the Old Vic in London, and had the most magical experience at the Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park, appearing twice opposite Kate O’Mara in 'The Taming of the Shrew', and then 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. “I've had the most wonderful life.
