We spent 4 slow, beautiful January days based in Tucson, Arizona exploring:✨ Saguaro National Park (East + West)✨ Sabino Canyon✨ Chiricahua National Monument Here’s our exact day-by-day itinerary (with honest little notes along the way): 📍 Day 1 – Saguaro East + Sabino Canyon (Rainy & Relaxed) 🥞 Breakfast at Bisbee Breakfast Club 🌵 Rincon Mountain Visitor Center 🥾 Mica View Cactus Forest Loop (3.8 miles – perfect intro hike) 🚗 Cactus Forest Loop Drive We headed to Sabino Canyon later in the day… and it rained. So we pivoted. We took the tram to the end, got off at Stop 6, and walked back. Honestly? Still magical. Desert rain hits different. 🌧️ 🍽 Dinner at The Parish (4/5) 📍 Day 2 – Seven Falls + Saguaro West 🥾 Bear Canyon to Seven Falls (Sabino Canyon big hike day!) 🪨 Quick stop to hidden petroglyphs in Kings Canyon 🚗 Bajada Loop Drive ✨ Signal Hill Petroglyphs Dinner at Amelia's Mexican Kitchen We got takeout so I can’t fairly rate it—but it’s highly recommended. I’d make a reservation next time 💛 📍 Day 3 – Saguaro East Sunrise + Big Loop Hike We aimed for 7AM at Javelina Rocks and wow… desert sunrise is quiet in the best way. 🥾 Big loop: Douglas Spring + Bridal Wreath Falls + Three Tank + Garwood A ranger suggested little side quests to Ernie Falls + Wildhorse Tank (10/10 recommend if you have the energy). 🍷 Dinner at Redbird (5/5 – no notes.) 📍 Day 4 – Bonus Adventure to Chiricahua 🥪 Breakfast + sandwiches from Dedicated Gluten Free Bakery (fully gluten-free heaven 🥹) We drove out to Chiricahua and checked trail conditions—there was ice + snow! They had trekking poles available to borrow which was so helpful. 🚗 Bonita Canyon Scenic Drive 🥾 Echo Canyon Trail (we turned around at the first water crossing, but you can extend it to the Grotto) January in southern Arizona gave us chilly mornings, big skies, quiet trails, and that reminder that nature really does slow you down in the best way. If you’re planning a Tucson trip, I hope this helps you build your own version. Take what works. Leave what doesn’t. Add your own side quests. 🌿 You don’t have to see everything to have an incredible trip. P.S. Here is our Spotify Playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0Qi... Save this for your desert adventure ✨ And tell me: sunrise hikes or sunset hikes? 💛
