This was my first ever backpacking trip and I already want to live in the woods. 🌿✨ Join me as I hike 15 miles over 3 days along the stunning Appalachian Trail in the Roan Highlands with my best friend Jess and Wildwood Hiking Co. This trip was made for beginners, but it gave me so much more than skills. It gave me peace, confidence, and an even deeper love for life on trail. Our incredible guide Nicole Markovich (AT thru-hiker + founder of Wildwood Hiking Co) led us through grassy mountain balds, foggy ridgelines, forested paths, and cozy campsites under the stars. We learned how to: Set up a backpacking tent Cook meals on trail Trust our bodies and embrace the wild And several other little nuggets we probably wouldn't have known to research or learn about. 🏕️ Trip Details: • Day 1: Carver’s Gap ➝ Overmountain | 5.6 mi | +940 ft / -1,876 ft • Day 2: Overmountain ➝ Doll Flats | 5.69 mi | +1,812 ft / -1,820 ft • Day 3: Doll Flats ➝ 19E | 3 mi | +522 ft / -2,234 ft We stayed the night before at the charming Mountain Harbour B&B where we met our group and got our gear. The next morning, we hit the trail and fell in love.
