A Vision for Scotland - Suzanne Zeedyk - ACE-Aware Scotland 2023

In September 2023, the ACE Aware Scotland team had the pleasure of once again hosting Dr Gabor Maté for a day exploring the impact of trauma. His focus was Compassion Fatigue. More than 600 people attended. Every year since 2018, the ACE Aware Scotland team has hosted a major gathering, which draws hundreds and even thousands of the public with the opportunity to think more deeply about relationships, connection and the lasting impact of childhood trauma. This video features the presentation delivered by Dr. Suzanne Zeedyk, one of the co-founders of ACE Aware Scotland. She launched the day by looking back at Scotland’s ACEs Journey. Her aim was to remind the audience that connection has been central to the way in which the Scottish ACEs Movement has framed its understanding of childhood trauma. It is within relationships that damage occurs, and it is within them that healing happens.
