Geislingen an der Steige (G - BW) The bells of the town church (bell concert)

In Geislingen an der Steige, the bells c#1-e1-g#1-a1-h1-cis#2 [do#3 -mi3 -sol#3 -la3 -si3 -do#4] ring out as the impressive peal of the town church. A small, historic bell from Ulm is complemented by five modern bells from Stuttgart. On 18 May 2024, a one-hour bell concert took place under the direction of D. Gigauri and T. Launag to show the different facets of the ensemble. ➥ The oldest bell [6] was cast in 1567 by the Ulm bell founder Hans Allgeer and fortunately survived all war deliveries. Over the centuries, however, it lost its bell crown. After the war, the bells were to be replaced. Initially, the Kurtz bell foundry in Stuttgart cast three new bells [3+4+5] with heavy shapes. In 1959, the two large bells [1+2] were added, also with heavy shapes. The existing bells were presumably tone-corrected at this time. In the enormous tower hall, these impressive bells seem almost small. In terms of sound, however, this has a very positive effect and creates an astonishingly homogeneous sound impression!
