What if the next Silicon Valley tasted like sweet tea? Bryan Davis is a passionate advocate for entrepreneurship and big ideas in the Upstate of South Carolina. As head of the Hill Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Furman University, Bryan talks about how he believes that the biggest factors of innovation could actually be found hidden in the heart of the South. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. He currently serves as the Executive Director of The Hill Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Furman University – a nationally awarded entrepreneurship center at one of the Southeast’s most prestigious private universities. Bryan works routinely with public, private, and academic leaders to build successful startup ecosystem strategies/programs and create frameworks to embrace the entrepreneurial mindset. He has supported over 650 founders and startups to-date, is a Forbes® contributor and member of the Forbes® Business Council, a graduate of the Palmetto Venture Fellowship, and recognized on the Palmetto Power List of most influential South Carolina business leaders.
