A clear of the Extra stage without dying, using bombs, using hypers or using the 1-hit shields. Or also known as 'EXNNNN'. Pretty easy stage, everything is very consistent apart from like three attacks. That being the boss's 4th, 7th and 8th spells. This shottype is quite wild, it's like homing beams from all sides of the screen and is pretty powerful. Less good at crowd control but very good at doing consistent damage to bosses. It's pretty funny when it freaks out when it tries to target many different enemies at once. Used this shottype for variation, Marisa can speedkill some attacks with her exploit here but it doesn't really matter. These characters are also actual real-life Vtubers which is pretty cool. --------------------------------------- Latest Chinese Touhou fangame just dropped. Like all the previous Chinese fangames, production values are crazed. Translation of the manual: https://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Immort... Your hyper gets charged by collecting items and you get various extra perks the higher your currently charged hyper level is. Level 1 is the minimum to start a hyper but level 2 makes your hitbox smaller and level 3 gives you a one-hit shield. Both starting a hyper and it ending gives a screen cancel. You can extent the duration of the hyper by collecting items during it. I'm not sure how I feel about the hypers in this game. They feel too overpowered for a game that was clearly not designed around the system. So if anything they make you engage with the game design less. Every character has a different hyper and some feel straight-up broken as well, like Seija's where you just drop a forever-lasting shield on screen that cancels all bullets. Scoring is basically using as many hypers as possible and extending them as long as possible, then NMNB'ing bosses. Besides that there doesn't really seem to be much other optimization you can do, so scores tend to be pretty static. Spells don't change in value either. Compared to all the previous Chinese fangames, the worst thing you can probably say about this one is that it doesn't particularly stand out or do anything new or grand. It's still a good and competent game worth playing that looks and sounds beautiful, but it's clearly not as high-caliber as some of the games that came before. I like the bosses (besides a few survivals that break the pace), but most of the stage sections are a little lackluster. Like it kinda peaks in stage 4. The mechanics and scoring not being particularly interesting don't help longevity either.
