A magmatic intrusion is likely ongoing at the Katla volcano in Iceland, which is the nation's most explosive volcano. In the last 7 days, the ground has been uplifted by 14 centimeters and this has occurred alongside a swarm of earthquakes. Katla now has its highest chance of producing a new eruption in more than 20 years, and a number of areas could be placed at risk.
