West Lancashire Light Railway (21st June 2025)

On Saturday 21st June 2025, the West Lancashire Light Railway at Becconsall near Hesketh Bank held its annual open day for members of the Merseyside & South West Lancashire Area Group of the 009 Society. The day saw its usual passenger service, and the odd goods train thrown in for good measure. Recently restored Bagnall 0-4-0 Sybil was the motive power for the day, supplemented by ex Llechwedd battery loco No.52 on shunting duties. In spite of the poor weather, the event was well patronised, and credit is due as usual to the railway's staff and volunteers for putting it on. This short video & photo montage (limited due to the weather) shows Sybil at work on this short, but tremendous little line. Also featuring various other forms of motive power, and rolling stock.
