#canning #allamericancanner #blanching #buttermilkbiscuits Easy Buttermilk Biscuits using the old fashioned well method or bird nest method. TRY THIS EASY RECIPE USING SELF RISING FLOUR. ANYONE CAN DO IT. SO MOIST AND YUMMY. IF YOU ARE LEARNING HOW TO MAKE BISCUITS THEN THIS RECIPE IS FOR YOU BECAUSE OF HOW EASY IT IS. HERE IS MY RECIPE: EASY BUTTERMILK BISCUITS (SONJA YOUNG) 4 Cups Self-Rising flour ½ Cup of Softened Butter ½ Cup of Sour Cream 1 ½ Cups of Buttermilk 1 Tablespoon of Bacon grease (optional) Preheat Oven 400* Add 4 Cups of Self-Rising Flour to a large bowl. Create a well in the center of the flour with your hand, Add softened butter, sour cream and buttermilk, mixing those ingredients little by little with your fingers. Slowly rake sides of flour into the center to create dough. Do not scrape the bottom while incorporating flour into your center. Once the dough starts to form, start incorporating all the flour into a dough ball. Make sure your hands are lightly covered in flour to keep your hands from sticking to the dough ball. Dough is ready when soft, but not sticking to your hand. Should feel like a baby butt! Now sprinkle flour on the counter or board and roll out about 1 inch in thickness. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out your biscuit and place in a well seasoned skillet. Place in an oven that is already heated to 400*F. Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes till golden brown. Brush your biscuits while still hot with melted butter and enjoy with some good homemade jelly or sausage gravy! Hope you enjoy!
