My Lyrics and Stylistic Suggestions and Slideshow: Mark Gammell All Else: AI, on Suno.com Inspiration: I came down to my computer to write my song for the day, and decided on this Title that has been rolling around in my head. This is what resulted. I am very pleased with it, and I hope everyone likes it. I was trying to give it a James Taylor feel, and I think I hit the target. Recently I have been turned on to Suno.com. I am trying to create a song daily. I was recently encouraged by Chatgpt to make music videos with iMovie using my photos and videos as a means to get my wares out there. I think it adds to the impact of any song, even though I am having to reuse my photo library again and again. Sorry. It was too much work to have my lyrics show up in the video, so I just pasted them below. End Goal: I'm teaching myself the craft of song writing, I am retired, and have the goal of marketing some or all of these songs someday in Nashville, etc. I would love to get some of them recorded by a real crooner artist, his band, and by a real music studio. I play the guitar and sing, but after some serious health issues, I can do neither very well. Song writing may be the only way left for me to really scratch my musical itch. :-) If you have any suggestions, I am all ears. :-). Thanks. Notoriously Difficult To Rhyme Lyrics: (Intro) This notion popped in my head today to write Next to the impossible - a song about words difficult to rhyme (Verse 1) First up, gotta be anti-dis-establishmentarianism The sheer length of this behemoth puts it at the top of “isms” What do my kids love to rhyme this with?: — “verple” None other than the ever popular purple If you enjoy this, you may have a touch of the “’tism” (Chorus 1) No matter how much you hum and haw Some things frozen take forever to thaw Like forcing a square peg into a round hole Like rhyming with ‘Sesquipedalian’ — oh Law! For example once I rhymed “do it” with — well, the name Pruitt If you have ever written a poem or song, you knew it (Verse 2) Take “orange” — get out your shoehorn to start Someone long ago put “door hinge” in their shopping cart But the challenge is quickly laid bare When you venture to rhyme this — alas in your underwear But is it allowed in this high brow art? (Chorus 2) No matter how much you hum and haw Some things frozen take forever to thaw Like forcing a square peg into a round hole Like rhyming with ‘Sesquipedalian’ — oh Law! For example once I rhymed “do it” with — well, the name Pruitt If you have ever written a poem or song, you knew it (Bridge) The best things in life, I’ve figured out are — well, organic And the least best things are — well, monotonic When I was young, triskaidekaphobia caught my fascination At the spelling bee, this was a revelation Trip to Epcot, made me want to study Hydroponics (Verse 3) I wouldn’t be too concerned, if life doesn’t seem to rhyme Plan B may very well prove itself in time Sometimes the best parts of life are those unplanned Always seems to come by another guiding hand Usually, too, when you’re on an uphill climb (Extended Chorus 3) The best things in life, I’ve figured out are — well, organic And the least best things are — well, monotonic No matter how much you hum and haw Some things frozen take forever to thaw Like forcing a square peg into a round hole Like rhyming with ‘Sesquipedalian’ — oh Law! For example once I rhymed “do it” with — well, the name Pruitt If you have ever written a poem or song — you knew it (Outro) This notion popped in my head today to write Next to the impossible - a song about words difficult to rhyme We’re not talking cat in the hat, if that's not painfully clear More like “discombobulate”, “silver” and “month” — up in here!
