We Hiked Kauai's MAHA'ULEPU HERITAGE TRAIL Tidepools Dunes Views Beaches & More 4 miles moderate

The 4-mile out and back Maha'Ulepu Heritage Trail meanders along Kauai's southern coast. Pick up the trail from Shipwreck Beach in Poipu. Parking is available off Ainako street next to the Grand Hyatt. This lovely trail is moderate with challenging bursts throughout. Stay on the main trail or, like us, take adventurous routes and side trails as you see them. Along the trail, you will see dunes, tidepools, a sacred site, red dirt, a golf course, a hidden beach, and many many beautiful overlooks and coastal scenery. We discovered this trail after our kayak/waterfall hike excursion was cancelled. We needed something to do for a few hours and this trail was perfect! We spent about three hours on the trail but it can be done in less (or more) time. We loved this trail and found it to be a great alternative to some of Kauai's lengthier and more challenging trails that could take up an entire day. Have you hiked this trail? What did you think?
