Man sentenced for killing girlfriend in Shawbury collision

“On February 4, 2023 my world shattered when I lost Lily-May in the most horrendous circumstances, and today we finally got justice for my beautiful daughter.” Those are the words of Leanne Vaughan, who’s 17-year-old daughter was killed in a road traffic collision in Shawbury Heath, Shropshire. Lily-May was a passenger of the vehicle, which was being driven by her boyfriend Logan Addison who was 17 at the time. Today (Friday 20 June) Addison, who is now 20 years old, was sentenced to five years and six months in prison for causing death by dangerous driving. He was also banned from driving for eight years commencing on his release from prison. Chief Inspector Julian Smith from the force’s Roads Policing Unit has praised today’s sentence hoping that it will give Addison time to reflect on his actions, after he has shown no remorse throughout the investigation and trial.
