Having to carry excess body fat increases the body’s insulin resistance, making blood sugar management more challenging. If it's fat, then why in the world do people with diabetes fear carbohydrates and buy the idea that it's necessary (it's not) to lose weight in order to reverse type 2 diabetes? To back up a little bit, it's somehow complex. Indeed, losing weight usually decreases your risk of developing type two diabetes. But doing it by avoiding carbohydrates is not the way to go. The sad news is, for many people that's the way to go. No thanks to low carb and high animal protein diets that have been able to seduce them.
