Recorded July 6, 2022. Camera: Sony HDR-CX405. Join my Discord: / discord My other social media content: https://linktr.ee/coastalocrailfan On July 6, I've went to the Acacia Avenue railroad crossing to catch some trains when I was coming, I saw the La Mirada local from the intersection red light I was waiting. I also decided to come here since there's been a bell changed here. Not long after arriving, I spotted a westbound Amtrak being the Southwest Chief # 3 heading here. This is actually my first time catching a Southwest Chief and the first time since 2018 where I last recorded a P42DC, plus first time hearing a K5L which sounded beautiful. Locomotives: AMTK 159 - GE P42DC (Phase V) - Narrow Font K5L. AMTK 174 - GE P42DC (Phase V). Crossing info: Crossing is owned and maintained by BNSF Railway. This crossing is a horn zone. Crossing is on the BNSF San Bernardino Subdivision. Signal on the right: 2 pairs of 12x24" Safetran lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, Invesys Rail gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, Siemens base, and a Safetran mechanical bell. Gateless signal on the median: 1 pair of 12x24" Safetran lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, and a Siemens base. Signal on the left: 3 pairs of 12x24" Safetran lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, RECO LED gate lights, Invesys Rail gate mechanism, Siemens base, and a General Signals type 3 electronic bell. Signal on the far median: 3 pairs of 12x24" Safetran lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, Siemens gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, and a Siemens base. Gated mast on the far median: Siemens gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, and a Siemens base. Signal on the far right: 1 pair of 12x24" Safetran lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, Siemens gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, and a Siemens base. As you can see, since my last visit here in September 2021, the WCH mechanical bell on the left has been replaced by the current General Signals type 3 electronic bell. This occurred in late May 2022 after the bell has been sitting there dead since at least 3 months prior.
