Restorative Yin Yoga Class to strengthen your immune system. Reduce stress hormones and improve circulation through the Lymphatic system to boost the body's self defence mechanism. 1) We will start off with a breathing exercise to calm the nervous system, stimulate the lymphatic system and boost the bodies immune cells. 2) From there we will move through five yin yoga postures chosen to target the immune and lymphatic system in a way that will optimise and strengthen the body. 3) Lastly this restorative yin yoga practice will lower the stress hormones that compromise the bodies ability to fight infection and restore. During stress, anxiety and overwhelm your immune system needs a boost! Yin yoga is a tool to help you calm and restore. Yin Yoga is everything you and your body needs at these times. It is suitable for all and the effects last long after the practice. I’ve practiced and taught Yin Yoga for years and I promise more you do it the better your body responds. You are teaching your body a new skill.... how to relax and release stress and tension! How to return to balance and health. For a healthy immune system you need a foundation of health to work from. Yin yoga encourages and allows your body to rebalance and restore to health and wellbeing. What is Yin Yoga?? — Yin Yoga is a practice of surrender. I call it the art of letting go physically and mentally. Each posture is passive (we relax into it gradually) for between 3-5 mins. The safer the body feels the more it will let go and so there will be plenty of options and alterations to allow the posture to feel just right. We want to feel the stretch but feel safe and able to relax and surrender fully to the posture too. This guided yoga class is an effective yoga calming technique. It will slow you down and give you the space you need to meet with your body and meet its needs. For example as you become aware of where the tension is held you will breath and release over time. The key is to put NO pressure on the body and to be in No rush. Just let the tension fall away gradually - without forcing or trying.
