We live in an age where answers arrive faster than questions and information travels quicker than thought. Surrounded by screens and artificial intelligence, the modern generation often consumes knowledge without engaging with it deeply. With the rapid rise of technology, modern life is slowly distancing us from self-reflection, limiting the time we spend with ourselves and reducing opportunities for intellectual depth. This talk explores the idea of noetics- the study of thinking, knowing, and intellectual awareness and questions whether our capacity for critical and curious thought is diminishing. At a time when attention spans are shrinking and creativity is increasingly borrowed from machines, the talk invites the audience to pause and look inward. It reflects on why questioning once stood at the heart of learning and why reclaiming that spirit matters today more than ever. It asks listeners to rethink relationship with knowledge and consider how inquiry and reflection can revive metacognition. Aaditya Joshi is a national-level quizzer, speaker, and second-year undergraduate pursuing a dual degree: B.A. (Hons.) in English Literature from Acropolis, Indore, and B.A. in Journalism and Digital Media from IGNOU. He holds a diploma in French, is certified in Egyptology, and is currently training in Vedic Astrology. An alumnus of Choithram School North Campus, Class of 2024 and former Head Boy, he has been involved in quizzing, debating, anchoring, and student leadership for over a decade. Aaditya has earned nationwide recognition in quizzing and has appeared on television since 2022. His achievements include being Madhya Pradesh State Champion and representing the state at the inaugural Fit India Quiz organised by the Government of India, ranking among the Top 50 youth quizzers on Quizzer of the Year, finishing as 1st Runner-Up at the Mumbai Speech and Debate League at IIT Bombay, and winning ₹7.5 lakh in Season 17 of Kaun Banega Crorepati, India's iconic television quiz show. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
