Ingredients Soaked chana dal- 1 cup (3-4 hours) Green chilli 4-5 Ginger 1 inch Garlic 4-5 cloves Asafoetida 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds 1 tsp Mustard seeds 1 tsp Red chilli powder-1/2 tsp Cumin powder -1/2 tsp Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp Curry leaves - 8 -10 Chopped coriander Oil as require Wheat flour 2 cup Salt to taste Method 1. Drain the soaked chana dal and grind it with green chilli, garlic, and ginger into a coarse paste (do not add water). 2. Transfer the dal paste to a bowl. Add salt and dry spices. Mix well and keep aside. 3. In another bowl, add wheat flour, salt, and oil. Knead into a medium-soft dough. Rest for 5 minutes. 4. Divide the dough into small pedas. 5. Roll one peda into a small roti. Place some dal stuffing in the center. 6. Fold into a half-moon shape, seal the edges properly. 7. Heat a saucepan with water, add salt, cover with a lid, and bring to a boil. 8. Add the prepared farre to boiling water and cook for 5–6 minutes. 9. Remove the farre using a slotted spoon and place them in a chalni to drain excess water. 10. Once completely cooled, slice the farre. 11. Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilli, and curry leaves. 12. Add sliced farre pieces and toss gently.
