Music to some, dancing to few, exploring and travelling to others. But what truly frees the mind? In her pursuit to understand the true definition of being free, Ms. Ramya Mohan comes across a child who teaches her the significance of the ability to communicate. In her speech, she talks about psychological and emotional freedom which comes from being able to communicate and express your true self, be it in the form of art or music. She also talks about the symphony of mental health with creativity, art and music and how these can free people from the shackles in their mind and be more assertive towards life. A British based senior NHS Developmental Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr. Ramya wears many hats. Besides being an accomplished Medical Educator, she is also a Music Composer, a trained Singer, an exhibiting Artist, an invited Author, Orator and Humanitarian working across Asia and Europe for international Community Development. Dr. Ramya is an expert in the neuroscience of creativity and psycho-oncology and is a pioneer in amalgamating Creative Arts and Neuroscience for youth and societal development. She is dedicated towards optimising the reach and enhancing the potential of creativity in healing and supporting mental health. Her internationally acclaimed neuroscientific therapeutic technique CAPE : Creative Arts for Processing Emotions has been commended as a global pioneer by the royal College, acknowledged by an international scientific platform and critically acclaimed by world media.
