This incident was narrated by Pudukkottai Smt Radha Ramamurthi in an interview. She recollected this incident. There was one called Smt Nagalakshmi mami from Trichy. She use to keep with her a plate taking Deeparadanai with camphor, match box etc ready. Whenever an opportunity arise, she will do ' Deeparadanai ' to Periyava. Oneday Periyava was speaking with some devotees, .Nagalakshmi mami was trying a chance to do " haarathi" But she was about to light the camphor, Periyava turn His face to some other side. Although she tried many times, she couldn't succeed. Suddenly she lit the camphor at one chance, thinking that she can do. But periyava stood up & went inside. She literally cried. Took Deeparadanai to ' chandramouliswarar, Tripurasundari' there . She was standing there with lots of sorrows. Suddenly a shishya came and asked her to go and see periyava. She alone went inside a room. It was dark. A small lamp alone was burning. Nothing could be seen clearly. Periyava said " ok Now do your camphor Haarathi" 'அழவேண்டாம் இப்போ ஹாரத்தி எடு' She did that. There Periyava vanished. She could see Goddess Kamakshi with sugarcane in one hand, bow , paadankusam etc on her other hand. Goddess, immediately turned on to Periyava also! Now she cried realising Periyava 's Karunyam!!This proved us ' Periyava is Kamakshi ' She did namaskarsm and left that room ..JAYA JAYA SHANKARA HARA HARA SHANKARA SRI MAHAPERIYAVA PADHAME CHARANAM!!
