Merry Christmas! 🎄 Today I’m making a cute and super easy Christmas Toast Tree—crispy toast, a soft broccoli-egg filling, and a few sauces to decorate. It’s festive, simple, and fun to make. ✨ Ingredients 1 slice of bread A small piece of butter A little broccoli 1 egg Sauces for decoration (blueberry jam, ketchup, mayonnaise) 🍳 Quick Steps Cut out the center of the bread to make a “toast frame.” Crack 1 egg into a bowl. Blanch broccoli: add a few drops of oil to boiling water, cook broccoli briefly, then remove. Chop broccoli into tiny pieces and mix into the egg. Heat a pan on medium, add butter, then lower to low heat. Place the toast frame in the pan and pour the broccoli-egg mixture into the center. Cook on low until lightly golden, flip, and cook slowly until set. Cut into 4 triangles, plate into a Christmas tree shape, add a broccoli stem “trunk,” then decorate with sauces. 🔬 Kitchen Science (Why it works) Why eggs turn solid: Heat unfolds egg proteins (denaturation), then they link together into a network that traps water, turning liquid egg into a soft solid. Low heat helps keep it tender, not rubbery. Why broccoli looks greener after blanching: Broccoli’s green comes from chlorophyll. Quick blanching softens cell walls and makes the green appear brighter—overcooking can dull it. A tiny bit of oil can also boost shine on camera. Texture + flavor chemistry: Butter melts into liquid fat, helping even heating. Toast crisps as moisture escapes as steam. Ketchup (acid), jam (sweet), and mayo (fat) balance flavor and carry aroma. If you try it, feel free to share what you liked—or what I can improve. 😊 Merry Christmas again! 🎁
