COMMISSIONER PROSSY RALLIES PARENTS TO SHIELD CHILDREN FROM BAD BEHAVIOR

Parliamentary Commissioner and Rubanda District Woman MP Prossy Mbabazi Akampurira Begumisa has urged parents and guardians to be vigilant and safeguard their children from harmful behaviours and negative peer influence during the holiday season. Akampurira delivered the message on Saturday during the Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF) fundraising event at Kamwezi Catholic Parish in Kamwezi Subcounty, Rukiga District. She stressed that with students now home for holidays, parents must “keep a close eye on them” to ensure they do not indulge in actions that could jeopardize their future. She also appealed for peace, unity, and tolerance ahead of the 2026 general elections. Meanwhile, Rukiga District LC5 chairperson aspirant Michael Kwarikunda Mbareeba Owengoga, Dr. Slyvia Mwanaki Alinaitwe, the NRM flag bearer, and Jolly Jackline Tumuheirwe, the NUP flag bearer vying for the district Woman MP Seat, all used the platform to solicit support, pledging committed and non-discriminatory service to the people.
