Parliamentary Commissioner and Rubanda District Woman MP, Prossy Mbabazi Akampurira Begumisa, has urged voters to ignore what she described as paid propaganda being spread by a section of local leaders. Her remarks follow a recent incident in which two Rubanda district leaders; Obed Kitabutuka, the councillor representing Bubaare Town Council, and Mary Waguma, the District Speaker , appeared at a rival candidate’s rally and openly urged voters not to support Akampurira. Kitabutuka left the crowd shocked when he insinuated that he receives allowances from the politician he is backing. Addressing supporters on Thursday during the launch of her campaign trail in Nyamweru Sub–County, Akampurira dismissed the attacks as baseless, saying the leaders resorted to insults because they have nothing meaningful to tell voters about what their preferred candidate will deliver. She questioned why the duo is wasting time throwing tantrums despite witnessing President Yoweri Museveni officially endorse her and hand her the NRM flag, confirming she legitimately won the party primaries and holds a clear, defined manifesto. Akampurira reassured voters that, if re-elected as Rubanda Woman MP, she will continue championing equitable service delivery without discrimination.
