East Lancashire Railway 'Legends of Steam II' 2025. All footage filmed on Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th March 2025. The ELR's held the second edition of their 'Legends of Steam' gala over the 14th-16th March with 4 locomotive icons in steam operating an intensive timetable. Headlining the event was due to be 60163 "Tornado", but unfortunately due to mainline commitments it had to be pulled from the event. Replacing "Tornado" at short notice was 61306 "Mayflower" courtesy of LSL having last visited in 2012. Joining "Mayflower" was a double bulleid duo, new resident 34081 "92 Squadron" & 34092 "City of Wells". Bringing up the rear of the roster was 'Black 5' No. 44871. An intensive timetable was put in place during the weekend to allow for all locos to have as many full line runs as possible. Although other highlights included mixed parcels trains, non-stop services and double-headers, most notably on Sunday morning when both 'Bulleids' teamed up to haul a double-headed service. A welcome surprise on the Saturday morning was 34081 "92 Squadron" running with newly fabricated 'Devon Belle' regalia, complete with wings, headboard and 613 disc. The 'Devon Belle' service ran from London Waterloo to Ilfracombe and Plymouth with an unrebuilt 'Battle of Britain' loco was regular traction, although 34081 "92 Squadron" never actually ran the service.
